JAN 29 – New Resources for Movement, Walking, Transfers, and MORE

Mia Boelen is a physical therapist who has specialized in treating people with Parkinson’s and similar movement disorders for 29 years.

After retiring, she wanted to continue to help the individuals who have inspired her. This led her to organize and produce educational videos for the PD community. Mia’s hope is that people will share this information to make life a little better. Many videos are applicable to both the person with PD as well as their care partner.

Walking: different avenues to take bigger steps are reviewed (attention strategies, auditory cues & visual cues). Also included are videos which specifically address freezing, turns and gait destination.

Transfers: each transfer is addressed in a separate video such as how to get up from a chair, the floor, in/out of bed as well as getting in/out of a car.
