Live Well South Sound, Tacoma, WAHi Friends,
Welcome to May, and Happy Cinco de Mayo! We’re excited about lots this month, but first, we’d like to thank all of you who joined us at Live Well South Sound in Tacoma last Friday.
If you missed it, we had an enriching time with eight fabulous presenters who provided us with tons of information and inspiration. We’re so thankful for the awesome feedback we received afterward, including:
“Well organized, good variety of service providers; thank you! The speakers were knowledgeable, and it was nice to see the talent we have locally.”
(Plus, look at the before-and-after pics of one of the participants below!)
In other news, we’re looking forward to our third annual Regatta Fundraising Race on June 6th at the Elliott Bay Marina in Seattle. Whether you want to sail in the race or watch from the shore, this is a fantastic way to enjoy the water and support APDA NW at the same time. We greatly appreciate your support and donations for this one-of-a-kind Parkinson’s fundraiser!
We’ll also be starting our latest PRESS Program and Finessing Fine Motor Skills as part of our Beyond Medications Series soon. If you plan to attend, remember to register for those!
Finally, May 7th and 8th are GIVE BIG days in Washington. APDA NW has partnered with Washington Gives and receives all funds donated through the special APDA link on its website. We feel good when we give, so consider participating in GIVE BIG this week! Participant Liz St. LouisBefore LWSSParticipant Liz St. LouisAfter LWSS UPCOMING EVENTS GIVE BIG ON MAY 7-8!
We get a good feeling when we show up for others, whether it’s a family member, a neighbor, or a local nonprofit we care about (like APDA!). And it’s not just about good feels — volunteering or donating money to support nonprofit groups helps everyone in the community.
Great things happen when you give what you can, and that’s what GiveBIG is all about. YOU can get that giving feeling by donating today (early giving is open) or on May 7-8.GIVE BIG HERE!2024 REGATTA FUNDRAISING RACE
Sail to the finish line for PD!
Hosted by Elliott Bay Marina, this is APDA’s third annual Regatta Fundraising Race. It aims to combine the sailing community’s enthusiasm while raising critical funds for the APDA Northwest Chapter.
Enjoy a fabulous evening on the water while supporting people with Parkinson’s, their families, and APDA. Reach out to family, friends, and colleagues to raise funds to help pay for local support services, education programs, exercise classes, resources, research, and more.
After the sailing race, join us for the Regatta party! Enjoy great food, drinks, and live music while you vie for raffle prizes and bid on fantastic auction items. 100% of proceeds go to APDA, and we appreciate your donation.
